THANK YOU. Because of you, we made it!

Last Tuesday (2nd Dec) we launched our Big Give Christmas Campaign. A matched giving campaign that we’d not been part of before. It was a new and daunting concept, but offered up a huge opportunity to get every donation to our Christmas campaign doubled.

We felt lucky to be part of it as often matched giving like this is reserved for the bigger charities. We had just seven days to raise £10,000 to meet our ambitious aim of sending 4,000 of our cards and letters to cancer patients spending Christmas in hospital.

As we hurtled through the week, we smashed our target (wow, wow, wow - and with several days to go), so with the generosity of corporate supporters who were watching our journey and offered up further match funding, we were able to increase our target again in a bid to help us reach even more people with our letters. And guess what…we smashed that too.

The impact

As a small charity, these things are an enormous boost to our work - and most importantly - to the people we exist for, enabling us to get our cards and letters into the hands of every cancer patient who wants one.

We know how much our letters mean to our recipients (we get such wonderful feedback each month), but at Christmas time, we know it means that little bit more. We are so pleased to be able to spread a little bit of joy to cancer patients this festive period - and that’s because of the generosity of our supporters.
