Radio 5 Live interview with Naga Munchetty

It’s not every day that you get interviewed on national radio, although for us, this is where it all started for our charity many years ago on Radio 4, so it holds a special place in our heart.

On Monday 10th April 2023, we were delighted that our co-founders, Alison and Brian, were invited on to Naga Munchetty’s Radio Five Live show to talk about our work. If you’d like to listen to the piece, it’s right here.

It was a brilliant interview, giving Alison and Brian the chance to talk about how it all started and how their lives have changed as a result. Naga was really interested in our work and the benefit the letters gave to Brian during his treatment and recovery from cancer. Brian even made her giggle with the mention of his and Alison’s shared wind breaking - which is what, would you believe it, brought them together in the first place (for more on this, read their full story here).

The interview gave the perfect overview of why we exist and why our work makes such difference to people facing cancer. As a result of it being broadcast, we’ve had people getting in touch to learn more about our work, ask to write letters for us and for some, it has inspired them to write to family and friends who are enduring cancer treatment. This is exactly what we had hoped for.

If you’d like to get involved in our work, we’d love to hear from you.
