OUR RESPONSE TO THE 2ND WAVE OF COVID-19
As much of Europe, and specifically the UK, enter the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, we wanted to let you know how From Me to You is responding. This year has been very difficult for the charity but, with the wonderful help of our supporters, we have been able to continue to tackle the isolation of those living with cancer.
So how are we going to continue our work through this 2nd wave?
This week we have launched our Happy Box - a place where anyone living with cancer can dip in and receive a comforting letter. Please feel free to visit the box anytime or encourage a loved one to do so. The Happy Box is filled with letters of love, kindness and smiles donated by writers from around the world, all hoping to brighten a day.
For our Donate A Letter scheme, all our partner hospitals and other outlets are continuing to accept letters (with the same strict quarantine procedures as have been in place since the spring) and we're continuing to onboard new outlets to make sure our letters reach as many people as possilbe.
For any Donate A Letter writers who prefer to email photographs of their letters for us to print off, we are again happy to to do this. We know that getting to a postbox is not available to everyone.
Our website and social media platforms provide sample letters, letter writing prompts and ideas to help you stay connected with loved ones. With so many of us experiencing solation at the moment, receiving a simple letter or card can make a world of difference.
We will soon be asking for Christmas cards and letters. This year our cut off date will be 14th December so sufficient quarantining of letters can happen. And of course we will be running our annual stamp fundraiser to ensure that all the letters get delivered.
Please do be in touch if you have any questions about our plans for the next couple of months, and thank you as always for your continuing support and interest in our charity. Best wishes From Me to You Team
