LETTER WRITING PROMPTS

During the pandemic, we have been posting daily letter writing prompts to help get your pens flowing.

Here are some of our favourites.

Please feel free to use them in your own letter writing.

And always remember it's a great idea to invite your reader to dig into their own memories or imaginations after you've shared something from yours.

Any new skills discovered in lockdown?

Or maybe a new hobby - are you loving it or wondering why you bothered?

What about the most special relationship in your life? Friend, family, pet or stranger who made a bigger difference than they'll ever know.

Who or what makes you proud?

A thank you letter to a key worker

What has isolation and lockdown taught you?

What are you most grateful for in life?

Who would you most like to spend a day with in lockdown?

What makes you smile? Memory, friend, hobby?

Use all 5 senses when you write to bring your letter to life.

The haircut you should never have had

Add a joke or funny anecdote to your letter - pass the smile along

And remember, a homemade card adds that extra personal touch (even if the creator is only 2 years old - thank you Indigo for this beautiful card - an artist in the making).
