SAMPLE LETTER - MAKING THE MOST OF YOUR DATING DISASTERS
Who hasn't had a dodgy date? And what better way to make someone smile than recalling it, whether it be last week or three decades ago.
Writer Lucy entertained us with this letter, written for Donate A Letter, of her life on the dating scene.
Of all the things I could tell you, I'm going to tell you about the dating scene for a 20 something girl. It's a complete minefield. I have been single for 3 years and am quite far behind all my other newly married friends who are now discussing when to start a family. I'm all the way over here trawling through dating apps and hoping not to end up with someone who wears bad cardigans. I had my heart broken 3 years ago by someone who didn't make me feel special or loved. That's not how it should be, is it? There is now a boy at work who I have been friends with for a long time and I think we may be moving towards something else, but my deepest fear is that I will get my heart broken all over again. I think some of my friends have settled for people who are not right for them. May be it is better to love ourselves first before anyone else loves us.
For the perfect relationship I think you need Trust, Loyalty, Laughter and lots of Wine!
I hope this letter has made you smile and caused you to think a little bit about love. Think of me this Wednesday when I go off on yet another date with some weirdo called Matt who smells of cat pee and is scared of fruit (this has recently happened!).
Wishing you a good day and some love.
(And many thanks to Iris (aka Agi) for the wonderful heart letters in our photo)
