WHEN CAN I FIND TIME TO WRITE?

We all have busy lives and finding the time to sit down and write a letter may be just another thing to add to the list of things we don't have time to do.

But how about when we're waiting? Or we're stuck somewhere we can't move from, such as in a plane? Can we find a few minutes, perhaps just enough to write a postcard, and connect with someone who needs to hear from us?

Here are our top 10 places to wait and write:

  • Waiting for a friend in a coffee shop.

  • When you're dining alone.

  • On hold on the phone to Customer Services - 'Your call is important to us'

  • Waiting at the doctor's - that's always more than a 10 minute wait.

  • Waiting at the dentist's - distract yourself from the drill.

  • Hospital waiting room.

  • On the train - especially on an inter-city.

  • On the underground - if you're lucky enough to get a seat.

  • At the airport - even when planes are on time, there's still a lot of waiting.

  • On the plane - perhaps between the meal service and a film.

Please tell us where you found your perfect waiting place!
