On World Letter Writing Day, a brave team from PwC gathered at Tower Bridge to start their 100km Thames Path walk to raise funds for From Me to You. Walking for 30 hours non-stop and through the night was harder than anyone expected.

While we were enormously appreciative of their support, we wanted to know why they'd chosen us. As we walked we talked to them about From Me to You and what it means to support a small charity.

Here's what we learnt, in their own words:

"Raising money for you means I get to know where the money goes."

"I feel valued with the personal connection to From Me to You. You're here walking with us, so we can ask you questions and understand what you want to achieve."

"I can make suggestions for the charity and find out how I can support in ways other than fundraising. Feel like I have a voice for the charity. Unique."

"We're using this walk for team-building."

"Personal challenge to walk 100km."

"This creates a community between us as colleagues and you the charity."

"You shook my hand, looked me in the eye and said thank you."

Knowing the pain, blisters and exhaustion that the team went through, we are hugely grateful, but it is the ongoing relationship that we will nuture for the future which is the thing that was the real value of the walk.

Thank you PwC
