Ladies of Letters - staring in Women’s Weekly with friends!

This week one of our trustees, Liz Kentish, was featured along some of our letter writing pals in Women’s Weekly. It was wonderful to see Liz sharing her story of how she got back into letter writing before becoming one of our trustees. Alongside Liz, both Dinah Johnson (founder of The Handwritten Letter Appreciation Society who wrote 100 postcards for us last year) and Jane Alexander (author of Kind Regards - The Lost Art of Letter Writing) were interviewed. It’s wonderful to be able to read their experiences of bringing letter writing to so many!

You write to someone you don’t know, but you do it with positive intent, and the letters provide comfort, cheer and can help with isolation. It doesn’t matter what you say, people love the fact that you’ve taken the time to think about them and invested a bit of your own day for them.

For people like me, who love letter writing, we can write to a stranger and know we are helping make a difference. The feedback I’ve heard through the charity from the recipients makes it all worthwhile and encourages me to write more.
